MODICON AM-C986-004 is a high-speed coprocessor board designed exclusively for the classic Modicon 984 PLC platform. It works alongside the main CPU to undertake intensive computing tasks, accelerate complex mathematical operations and boost the overall program scan performance of the control system. This module carries on-board SRAM memory and serial communication ports including RS-232C and RS-422, enabling fast data exchange with external intelligent devices and auxiliary controllers. It adopts standard backplane rack mounting structure and plugs directly into the Modicon 984 rack for seamless integration without major cabinet modification. Built with industrial-grade components and anti-interference circuits, it can maintain stable operation under continuous long-cycle running in factory environments. As an obsolete original spare part, it is mainly used for maintenance and retrofit of old Modicon 984 automation systems. Replacing with the original coprocessor keeps the existing control logic and communication architecture intact and reduces production downtime.
