Product Details:

KOLLMORGEN AKM74P-ACCNR-00 is an extra large heavy-duty permanent magnet synchronous servo motor from Kollmorgen AKM series, equipped with ComCoder incremental commutation encoder and keyway shaft. It adopts 188mm IEC flange and P winding stack configuration, delivering ultra-high continuous stall torque and strong overload capacity, designed for heavy roll-to-roll extrusion and master-slave synchronous axes that require stable long-time continuous running under constant tension load. ComCoder outputs incremental pulse signals and motor commutation data for closed-loop speed and tension control, it needs homing operation after power cycle and cannot store absolute position information.

This servo motor transmits differential incremental pulses and commutation signals to matched Kollmorgen AKD servo drives to realize stable speed ratio synchronization for multi-roller systems. It maintains consistent speed ratio between driving rollers and suppresses tension fluctuation during continuous production. Separate rotatable M23 dual connectors for power and feedback circuits isolate high-power noise from sensitive pulse signals and reduce electromagnetic interference inside large electrical cabinets equipped with high-power inverters and switching components.

This variant is non-brake design without integrated holding brake, suitable for horizontal unwinding, rewinding drums, heavy calender rollers and large extrusion transfer axes where static shaft locking is realized by external mechanical brake. The keyway shaft provides reliable torque transmission with gearboxes and reducers and prevents slippage under variable heavy tension load. The stator winding uses Class F insulation material and integrates PTC thermal sensor for real-time overheat protection during long-hour cyclic operation. The motor housing reaches IP54 protection grade to resist workshop dust and incidental coating liquid splashing. Optimized low cogging magnetic circuit suppresses torque ripple greatly, ensuring uniform rotation speed which is critical to avoid film stretching, wrinkling and thickness deviation.

It supports torque control, speed control and position control modes, and all motion parameters can be tuned conveniently via Kollmorgen WorkBench software. Standard IEC flange mounting dimensions support direct replacement of legacy AKM motors, simplifying on-site equipment renovation and spare part swap. Every finished motor passes complete factory validation before shipment, including ComCoder pulse calibration, synchronous stability test, heavy inertia endurance test, insulation resistance inspection and vibration noise monitoring to guarantee stable performance in multi-shift continuous converting and extrusion lines.

It is widely deployed on heavy film extrusion equipment, thick sheet calender lines, large nonwoven fabric production systems, heavy coating machinery and large rubber processing auxiliary rollers. Typical application axes include synchronized calender rollers, unwinding and rewinding drums, web guiding modules and continuous coating driving units. Automation integrators select this high-torque ComCoder variant for its stable synchronous tracking performance, strong heavy-load endurance and seamless compatibility with Kollmorgen AKD motion control ecosystem.
