Product Details
FANUC A03B-0819-C012, also known as AIF01B, is an I/O Link interface module designed for FANUC 16i-B,18i-B and 21i-B CNC platforms, working together with ABU series I/O backplanes. It serves as the communication bridge between the I/O rack and the CNC main controller, converting internal parallel I/O signals of the backplane into FANUC proprietary I/O Link serial bus signals for long-distance transmission. It supports up to 32 points of digital signal exchange, and runs on standard 24V DC industrial power supply, matching the distributed I/O architecture widely adopted on old-generation FANUC machine tools.
This AIF01B module is installed into the slot of ABU05A or ABU10A backplane, and it is the mandatory communication gateway for the whole I/O station. Without this interface module, all DI and DO modules plugged on the same backplane cannot establish data connection with the CNC host. It is equipped with dedicated status LED indicators to display power supply status, bus communication link status and signal transmission activity, which helps maintenance engineers quickly judge whether the communication failure comes from the gateway module, bus cable or the CNC side port. The internal circuit has built-in surge suppression and EMC filtering circuits, which can reduce the interference from servo drive noise and contactor switching spikes in the electrical cabinet.
The module adopts the classic yellow FANUC industrial housing, with compact structure and DIN rail compatible installation. It has stable performance under the working temperature range of -10°C to 55°C, and can tolerate workshop environments with cutting oil mist and fine metal dust. Different from ordinary DI/DO modules which only collect or output signals, this unit focuses on bus protocol conversion, and it does not provide independent signal terminals for field sensors or actuators. All field wiring is finished on the corresponding input and output modules on the same I/O rack. Users can configure the I/O address range through PMC parameters after the bus link is established, to assign signal points for limit switches, proximity sensors, door safety switches, tool detection signals and other machine input signals.
It is a critical replacement spare part for the scenario where the whole I/O rack loses communication due to the failure of the original AIF01B gateway module. Every module will go through power-on aging test, bus communication matching test and LED indicator inspection before shipment, to verify stable handshake with CNC mainboard and backplane. Replacing this faulty interface module can restore the signal communication of the entire I/O station rapidly, avoid the whole machine alarm and production halt. It is commonly used on CNC lathes, vertical machining centers, tapping machines and special automation equipment equipped with FANUC 16i-B,18i-B,21i-B CNC systems, covering mold processing, auto parts turning and precision hardware machining workshops.
