Product Details
FANUC A03B-0819-C002, also marked as ABU05A, is a horizontal 5-slot I/O basic backplane unit, matching FANUC 16i-B,18i-B and 21i-B CNC systems. It is a compact version of the ABU10A backplane, designed for small-scale I/O configuration scenarios where fewer signal points are required inside the electrical cabinet. It serves as the signal and power distribution carrier for distributed I/O Link stations, providing standardized slot interfaces to install digital input modules, digital output modules, analog modules and relay output modules. The internal printed circuit board integrates power distribution traces and dedicated I/O Link bus routing, distributing 24V DC working power and serial bus signals to every inserted module, and unifying data communication between all plug-in I/O cards and the CNC main controller.
This 5-slot backplane adopts horizontal installation design, which occupies less cabinet space and is suitable for compact machine electrical cabinets such as small CNC lathes, tapping machines and special-purpose automation equipment. Each slot is equipped with precision gold-plated pin contacts and locking buckle structure, which can firmly lock the inserted I/O module and avoid intermittent communication faults caused by vibration and impact during long-time cutting operation. The built-in shielding layer can isolate electromagnetic interference generated by servo amplifiers, contactors and inverters nearby, effectively preventing signal distortion and occasional I/O Link disconnection. Users can freely combine DI, DO and analog modules in these 5 slots according to the PMC logic requirements of the machine, to realize signal collection and output for tool change, lubrication, door interlock, travel limit and alarm indication.
The classic yellow industrial housing has good dust resistance and oil mist resistance, adapting to the workshop environment containing cutting fluid mist and fine metal powder. It should be noted that the backplane itself has no signal acquisition and output function, all signal processing work is completed by the I/O modules plugged into the slots. Its maintenance is convenient; maintenance personnel can directly pull out and replace the faulty single I/O module without removing the whole backplane or rewiring the bus, which greatly shortens the on-site troubleshooting cycle. Compared with the 10-slot ABU10A, ABU05A is more flexible for small machines with limited I/O points and cabinet installation space.
It is a direct replacement spare part when the original backplane suffers internal bus circuit burnout, slot pin oxidation, poor contact and communication failure. Before delivery, every unit will pass continuity inspection of each slot, bus signal stability test and power load aging test, to verify the conduction of power pins and bus pins of each position. Replacing this ABU05A backplane can quickly restore the communication of the whole I/O station and reduce unexpected production downtime. It is widely used in small mold engraving machines, small precision CNC lathes, tapping centers, automated fixture control and other FANUC 16i/18i/21i-B system equipment.
