The BENTLY NEVADA 3500/46M four-channel multi-mode hydro monitor module belongs to Bently Nevada 3500 TSI machinery protection system. It is specially developed for hydropower units and pumped storage units. This module can be installed in any free slot of the 3500 rack. It supports proximity probes, velocity sensors, accelerometers and air gap sensors, and provides -24Vdc transducer excitation for eddy current probes. It can measure radial vibration, thrust position, air gap, casing vibration, velocity and acceleration. The core feature is multi-mode function, supporting up to 8 sets of independent alarm thresholds and delay settings, which can automatically switch alarm logic according to different working conditions such as turbine generation or pump motor operation. Engineers configure channel parameters via 3500 rack configuration software, setting Alert and Danger alarm limits. When the measured value exceeds the threshold, the module sends alarm signals to rack relay modules for unit alarm and interlock control. Each channel outputs 4-20mA analog recorder signal to DCS system. Cooperating with 3500/22M TDI module, it uploads steady-state data and high-speed transient waveform to System 1 fault diagnosis software. Front panel LED indicators display module OK status, bypass state and each channel alarm state for on-site inspection. Built-in self-diagnosis function can detect probe open circuit, short circuit and signal loss faults. It supports hot swapping during rack operation, maintenance staff can replace the module without shutting down the whole TSI system. It complies with API 670 turbomachinery monitoring standard, widely applied in hydropower and pumped storage power plants, used for vibration and air gap protection monitoring of hydro turbines and pump-turbines.
