The Schneider 140CRA21220C conformal coated DIO drop interface module is a high-reliability rugged remote distributed I/O communication adapter of Modicon Quantum PLC automation platform, fitted with two redundant DIO communication ports, developed for distributed signal acquisition and control under humid, dusty and corrosive industrial environments. This DIO drop interface module adopts 24 V DC rated power supply with voltage range from 20 to 30 V DC. The PCB circuit board is coated with Humiseal 1A33 conformal coating, which can effectively protect internal electronic components against moisture, dust and corrosive gas to guarantee long-term stable operation in chemical plants, offshore platforms and other severe industrial sites. It undertakes data transmission between Quantum main CPU and remote I/O stations, realizing high-speed exchange of digital input and output signals. Dual redundant DIO ports greatly improve communication reliability and prevent system shutdown caused by single cable failure. The module transmits I/O data to the main processor and feeds back fault diagnosis information of remote stations, helping operators monitor the running status of distributed I/O points in real time. It can be directly inserted into the Quantum backplane rack, adopts standard hot pluggable structure for convenient installation and replacement during system maintenance. Integrated overcurrent and short-circuit protection circuits improve the stability of remote I/O network. This original Schneider product was discontinued on May 17,2022 and end-of-service on Dec 31,2029, widely stocked as spare replacement parts for maintenance and upgrade of legacy distributed industrial automation systems under harsh environments. It is widely deployed in power, petrochemical, water treatment and manufacturing plants as redundant remote I/O drop interface for Modicon Quantum automation racks.
