The Schneider 140CRA21110 Modicon Quantum DIO drop interface module is a remote distributed I/O communication adapter designed for Modicon Quantum PLC automation system, used to connect the main rack to remote DIO drop stations for distributed signal collection and control. This DIO drop interface module supports rated supply voltage of 115/230 V AC, voltage range from 85 to 276 V and working frequency 47 to 63 Hz, equipped with 1 single communication port for DIO bus connection. It undertakes data transmission between the Quantum main CPU and remote I/O modules, realizing high-speed exchange of digital input and output signals. The module can transmit I/O data to the main processor and feed back fault diagnosis information of remote stations, helping operators monitor the running status of distributed I/O points in real time. It can be directly inserted into the Quantum backplane rack, adopts standard hot pluggable structure for convenient installation and replacement during system maintenance. Integrated overcurrent and short-circuit protection circuits improve the stability of remote I/O network. This original Schneider product was discontinued on Nov 1,2020 and end-of-service on Dec 31,2026, widely stocked as spare replacement parts for maintenance and upgrade of legacy distributed industrial automation systems. It is widely deployed in power, petrochemical, water treatment and manufacturing plants as the remote I/O drop interface for Modicon Quantum automation racks.
