The Schneider 140CPU67861C conformal coated Unity hot standby processor module is a high-end redundant dual-slot core control unit of Modicon Quantum PLC automation platform, equipped with single-mode fiber hot standby interface and 11MB total memory, designed for ultra-large and complex critical industrial control systems under humid, dusty and corrosive working environments that require long-distance redundant synchronization and bumpless switchover. This modicon quantum cpu module adopts a 32-bit RISC processor running at 266MHz clock frequency, with abundant memory resources to support large program logic, mass data recording and recipe storage. The PCB circuit board is coated with Humiseal 1A33 conformal coating, which can effectively protect internal electronic components against moisture, dust and corrosive gas, ensuring stable long-term continuous operation in chemical plants, offshore platforms and other severe industrial sites. It runs Unity operating system and fully supports IEC61131-3 standard programming languages, programmed via Unity Pro / EcoStruxure Control Expert software. The module integrates dedicated single-mode fiber optic hot standby port, supporting up to 16km long-distance real-time data synchronization between primary and standby CPUs. Once the master CPU fails, the standby unit can automatically complete bumpless switchover to maintain uninterrupted system operation without stopping production. This CPU also carries one 10/100Mbps Ethernet port, one Modbus serial port and one Modbus Plus communication port, supporting data exchange with local I/O modules, S908 remote I/O stations, distributed I/O stations, HMI touch screens and other field automation equipment. It can support up to 2 local racks, maximum 31 S908 remote I/O stations and 63 distributed I/O stations over Modbus Plus network. The onboard Ethernet port supports TCP/IP communication, web diagnostic function and Ethernet remote I/O scanning. The module comes with a 2×16 LCD backlight display and key switch for memory protection, supporting high-speed interrupt input, event time stamping and high-precision counter functions. A hardware watchdog timer continuously monitors program execution status and triggers safety protection actions automatically once abnormal operation occurs. It occupies two adjacent slots on Quantum backplane rack and must be paired with another identical 140CPU67861C module to establish hot standby redundant architecture. This original Schneider product was discontinued on Dec 31,2018 and end-of-service on Dec 31,2026, widely stocked as spare replacement parts for maintenance and upgrade of large-scale long-distance redundant industrial automation systems.
