Allen‑Bradley 1203‑GK1 is a communication adapter of Rockwell 1203 series. It acts as gateway between SCANport‑compatible devices and Remote I/O network. It is powered by 24V DC ±10%, SCANport load current is 60mA DC, and it adopts standard 35mm DIN‑rail mounting. Equipped with 8‑pin mini‑DIN SCANport connector for 1336 PLUS and PowerFlex drives, and 3‑pin terminal for Remote I/O bus connection.
It supports baud rates of 57.6K, 115.2K and 230.4K, maximum I/O data capacity up to 8 words. Multiple rack addressing modes including 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 and full‑rack are available. On‑board DIP switches are used for local configuration of baud rate and rack address. Front‑panel LED indicators show module status, SCANport link and Remote I/O bus condition for convenient on‑site troubleshooting. Operating temperature ranges from 0‑60℃ with strong industrial anti‑interference performance, compatible with legacy Allen‑Bradley PLC‑5, SLC500 and ControlLogix systems.
This module realizes data exchange between PLC controllers and SCANport drives. PLC can perform drive start‑stop control, speed reference setting, parameter read‑write, and acquisition of current, voltage and fault codes via Remote I/O without additional hard‑wiring. It is widely used for retrofit and spare‑part replacement of production line transmission systems, fan & pump drives and material handling equipment.
